COME ONE, COME ALL TO A UUFR TOWN HALL
IN-PERSON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 AFTER SERVICE 11:15 TO 12:15
BY ZOOM SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 3:00 TO 4:00
Take this opportunity to review the proposed UUFR 2024-2029 Strategic Plan prior to the November Congregational Vote on November 12.
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh (UUFR) began a strategic planning process in November of 2021. The Strategic Plan (available for viewing here) was developed by the congregation and is owned by the congregation. The process for developing the plan has included a discernment stage including collecting information and data, and researching and visiting other UU strategic plans; a feedback and listening stage to listen to congregants about their ideas and recommendations; and a review and discussion stage for the proposed vision, goals, objectives, and strategies. The decision stage occurs during our congregational vote on November 12, 2023.
Highlights of the plan include the following aspirational Vision and six Goals.
UUFR aspires to be a loving community that is intentionally inclusive, spiritually nourishing, and committed to leading social justice.
There are six goals in the proposed Strategic Plan. These goals represent our priorities, why we come to UUFR, and what we want to spend our time and talents on.
- Be welcoming to all who seek a liberal religious community and integrate them into the life of the Fellowship.
This includes openness to visitors, new members, and established members.
- Inspire our spirits.
Many people who attend UUFR are seeking connection to the mystery of life, the intangible goodness of the ultimate.
- Nurture connections at all stages of life.
The single most important reason people say they attend UUFR is to connect with and receive support from other like-minded people.
- Champion social justice at UUFR and be a leader in our broader community. Social justice is a cornerstone of why people come to UUFR and how they live their beliefs. Social justice is an umbrella term and includes environmental justice.
- Communicate effectively through UUFR’s social media, website, email and in person.
Better sharing of information about our culture and our activities results in unity of purpose.
- Create a dynamic campus and robust staff infrastructure at UUFR.
Our physical space and our staff resources are the backbone of reaching our vision.
This Strategic Plan is only meaningful if all of you agree to work on these actions. The Board of Directors approved a five-year Implementation Plan, which includes an annual review of the Plan and a report to the congregation on our progress. UUFR’s Strategic Plan will be a living document. The Board, the Minister and staff, and the lay leaders of the congregation pledge to incorporate these goals, objectives, and strategies to reach our vision of UUFR.
